Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Holy air fresheners, batman! Stinky! Food and service were good. Took my kid in to use the bathroom. Overpowering air freshener smell. Then got in line for food and it didn't go away. Pumped thru the HVAC? I have chemical intolerance and my skin still reeks 2 hours later after changing clothes. It permeates everything horribly. Don't you want people to smell the good food? It's a brand new building, Ditch the chemicals!! They're toxic and make your customers stink and are probably making your employees sick. Off to take a shower and wash my clothes.

I have never once had Panda Express get my order wrong, until today. Today was also the first time I had to experience the AI ordering. Coincidence? I doubt it. I ordered "a plate with double orange chicken and a side of half chow mein half fried rice" The ai took the order. I asked if that was a single side half fried rice half chow mein. It responded with it couldnt remove a side a la carte because it couldnt find one to remove. Okay fair enough. I get to the window and the girl silently takes my payment. I ask again "Hey I just want to make sure that the side is half chow mein half fried rice." she said yes. So Imagine my surprise when I get home and both my box and my receipt says "mesquite teriyaki grilled chicken and mushrooms with double fried rice... The horror was palpable. Or maybe it wasnt. Yuck.

I will admit from the start, I used to poo poo Panda because I didnโt consider it to be real Asian food. While itโs true the dishes may be somewhat Americanized, they really are delicious. I donโt eat the breaded chicken options, but the mushroom chicken and the teriyaki chicken are amazing! The servers are always friendly. The portions are always generous and the restaurant is clean. I like to eat at the restaurant, but they always have a steady stream of pickup orders on the display board.

I preface all of my reviews with the fact that I am a service and hospitality worker as well. Not trying to be a Karen on the internet, and I only write reviews when I find absolutely necessary, for the well being of others. I ordered a plate with beyond (vegetarian) orange chicken, and a side of beyond chicken. Immediately upon opening the plate I could tell it was real chicken. Disappointed but not surprised, and I am aware as a vegetarian that I need to double check my food. What threw me off COMPLETELY is that the orange chicken was MIXED with beyond (vegetarian) orange chicken. You can not only visibly tell the difference, you can also smell it when cut open. Not only is this a health code violation, is super disheartening to have real meat mixed with fake meat, as someone who doesnโt eat meat. I called and spoke with them and they offered a full meal replacement, the customer service on that end was fine, but wow what a way to kill someoneโs appetite!
